Sam Teather partnered the new Warwickshire Matchplay champion, Jamie Slater. However, they couldn't master the greens and lost 5/4.
The fourth pair of Adam Lumley and debutant, Louie Pett brought in a solid win 4/3 as did the final pair. George Allen and Robert Owens.
The morning advantage of 3 to 2, was lost early on as Ryan Wallace and Sam Teather both lost 2/1. Daanyal Spalding had a good win, which, going out as number 3 was a good confidence booster for him, well done Daanyal!!
Michael Pell returning after a wrist injury got the better of his opponent and won on the 17th.
Jamie Slater was one up playing the last, but, making the wrong choice playing the tricky 18th at Ingon Manor, Jamie lost he hole, and finished up with a half. George Allen played well, but encountered an opponent in good form and making loads of putts and lost 4/3.
Robert Owens finished the day well with another win [2/1]. Adam Lumley told me he was struggling with his form. He lost 4/3, but Louie Pett came good with a 2/1 win. The final match saw Nathan struggling with his knee injury over the hilly terrain at Ingon Manor over 36 holes and he lost 2/1.
The match was halved, so giving Warwickshire 4th place in the league on count back.
There were two reserve matches as well. Thomas Jones and George Butler won both morning and afternoon.
'As this was my last match as Warwickshire Boys Team Manager, I would like to thank The County Board for their support over six years, the Junior Committee members for their support at matches, in particular, John Jewsbury.
'Dick Ferry also gave me unstinting support despite under going a painful knee operation. We worked well as a team at major events such as the County finals at Little Aston and Royal North Devon and the Four Counties tournaments.
'I have appreciated the support at matches and the county finals, particularly at Royal North Devon, where the wind and rain on the exposed links course were very trying for spectators a long way from home!
'I would like to congratulate our county coaches, Andy Dunbar, Neil McEwan and Stewart Bottrill on a great job coaching and developing our county teams each year.
'I also want to include all the Boys team captains and players in my thanks, and wish them all the best in the future.'
