| Singh finished his first round with a glorious 5 wood to 13ft to send the hapless Cejka looking for a putting tip.
The second 18 was no better for Cejka as Singh went to nine up with solid but not spectacular golf only then to bogey the 9th having lost the 8th to only the second birdie all day from the German. It was all over on the 12th.
At the Press Conference
‘Yes, this is my most satisfying season. But, I am dissatisfied with Atlanta (the Amex World Championship event) – two bogies on 9 and 10 from the middle of the fairway with wedges, and the last rounds in the US Open and the PGA – I have to learn how to deal with those situations.’
What about missing out on US Tour events and the importance of the HSBC?
‘I am here because I want to win this. Yes it’s a goal to win the US Money List but I have 3 events to play, I know the courses, and the prize money is so big. I could win twice then Tiger could win the last.’
I don’t mind playing today and the qualification system is fair but I would like to see the seeding done on the World Rankings. This year, you have three first time winners and three first time Runners up in the field – any other year and the field would be stronger, so I don’t know how the other guys would rate this Tournament. Its special to me and if the Top12 in the World were playing …?’
