The 2004 Junior Order of Merit
This year, Rob Browning steps up to defend his JoM title. Starting fully on 1st April, Rob and any other Junior member of a Warwickshire Union Club who has a handicap will be competing for 100 000 s of JoM points to decide who will be Champion for 2004 and take away some wonderful prizes. It doesn t matter what standard of golfer you are, you could win the JoM.

The points schedule will stay the same as for 2003 - the Warwickshire Junior Championships being the Major s, the season of Junior Opens will be very important, and you can gain very valuable points from 10 of your Club competitions. You can add to points from strokeplay events by winning matches, at Warwickshire level, for Inter Club matches, and for winning in Club KOs.

All of these points will be displayed on the JoM , accessed via this web site. There will be a full JoM table with everyone on it. There will be a table for the Girls who have entered their own JoM. You will be able to compare yourself with Juniors of a similar handicap or age to yourself so even if your have just got a handicap or started playing, you can see is you have played as well as other just like yourself. And you will be able to have a mini JoM with other Juniors from your club.

To enter the 2004 JoM, you MUST have a GSA number - there are features and links for this already on the web site. The reason why you have to have a GSA number are explained in other features, so check them out.

It costs £4.00 to enter the 2004 JoM (it doesn t cost anything to have a GSA number) so when you enter, you need a parent or guardian with you to pay for your entry. Entry fees will go towards the lots of prizes on offer. Get yourself a GSA number before you try to enter the 2004 JoM.

Just like last year, there is going to be a final event of the 2004 JoM, the JoM Championships, to be held on Saturday 16th October at the West Midlands Golf Club. Only the Top 24 players at that date can play in the JoM Championship.

There is going to be a bonus for the Top 50 in the JoM as of 2nd June - more detail to come later.

A bit like the European Tour, the Purley Chase Junior Open is played late in the season and last year, it didn t count for the 2003 JoM. If you register for the 2004 JoM before 1st April, you will receive points if you played in the Purley Chase Junior Open of last year, to start your campaign for 2004.

You can join the JoM at any time but there will be NO BACK SCORING FOR 2004 - if you haven t registered for the JoM when an event is played, you DO NOT SCORE POINTS FOR THAT EVENT.

Good luck! Keep practising and have lessons whenever you can.
