| Renowned sportswear designer Joey Rodolfo, who was appointed Vice President of Design for Callaway Golf Apparel earlier this year, has created the collection with a European fit and style in mind to appeal to all lady golfers from 16 to 60 years old.
The general theme of the collection will be fashionable colours and stylish designs that will appeal to both ladies who play golf and those who don't, but will find the clothes ideal for leisurewear. The Lacosta range is perfect weekend wear - striking designs in black, white, lime and citrus colours - and the Sorrento range will be a mix of garments in beige, brown, pale blue and yellow colours. Both ranges will feature different fabrics such as merino wool and leather as well as cotton.
Callaway Golf Apparel category product manager Jo Ettrick said, "This is a fantastic opportunity for Callaway Golf Apparel to get to a new level. The combination of the international brand name and the design talent of Joey Rodolfo can only bring success - we are all very excited about this move into the ladies apparel market."
Grahame Jenkins, European managing director, added his enthusiasm. "This is the biggest Callaway Golf Apparel launch of the many planned throughout the next year. This new ladies collection reinforces the brand as a leader in innovation and design in the golf apparel market; our products exemplify fashion and function."
Callaway Golf apparel is considered by many to be one of the most successful golf apparel launches in recent history recording sales of over $30 million in 2003, their first full year in operation. It is golf-inspired lifestyle sportswear distributed domestically and internationally in golf pro shops, resorts, specialty stores and prestigious department stores such as Harrods and Selfridges.
