WARWICKSHIRE UNION OF GOLF CLUBS
COUNTY MEMBERSHIP SCHEME

History

The Scheme was started in 1970 to raise funds for the County Union and continues to be successful to this day. Approximately £2,000 is raised each year by the Scheme and obviously the County are trying to increase this amount.

Membership

Life Membership costs £35 and includes a County tie, and Annual Membership costs £5 per annum by Banker's Order plus an initial joining fee of £5 and a further £5 for a tie.

Benefits

Members of the Scheme are entitled to play in the exclusive Spring and Autumn Meetings (fourball betterball stableford) at £30 per pair and also to enter the Dick Squires Cup. The Autumn Meeting in 2008 will be held at Stratford-on-Avon Golf Club on Thursday 18th September. The Dick Squires Cup is an individual competition entered at £2 per person via one of your club's summer medal or stableford competitions, and qualifies the two best net scores to play in the Dick Squires Cup Final on Monday 22nd September at Nuneaton Golf Club (an afternoon individual stableford competition) free of charge and for prizes and a free meal in the evening. Non-Scheme members can enter the Spring and Autumn Meetings, although the County will try to enrol them into the Scheme on the day. Being a member of the Scheme will also entitle the individual to play in the Warwickshire Seniors Championship at a reduced entrance fee.
