JUNIOR NEWS - Champion of Champions and last U16s match
Sunday 16th September 2007 - Geetham Valley GC - Midland Junior Champion of Champions Tournament. Sam Dodds and Jamie Carney represented Warwickshire in the Midland Champion of Champions Tournament, with some success. Over at Rugby GC, the U16s continued their winning ways whilst Boys Team manager John Simpson has announced his team to take on Notts at Wollaton Park next month, for Midland Boys League Finals.
Juniors News - Sullivan is Champion of Champions
At Kirby Muxloe GC, on Sunday 11th September, Andy Sullivan took his last major Junior Championship by winning the Midland Junior Champions Tournament - with some incredible scoring. Andy, together with all the rest of our very successful 2005 Junior Team, will play possibly their last match this Saturday - and for many it will be a final taste of Junior Golf.
Cryer and Steele take honours
Matt Cryer returned from his first Home Internationals with 4 points as his contribution to the 21.5 from the 10 man England team who came second in the 2005 Championships, whilst on Saturday 10th September, in some very wet conditions, Rob Steele retained his Howitt Bowl title at North Warwickshire.
Sullivan is runner-up in Midland Boys
Ashley Chesters took the Midland Boys yesterday at Sandwell Park by three shots from Andy Sullivan and Richard Gurney with a total of 139 (-3), courtesy of some devastating putting, notably in his morning round of 68.
Midland Youths 2005 + Matchplay Finalists
These are the Warwickshire scores from each day of the Midland Youths 2005 being held at Stoke Rochford GC on July 6th, 7th and 8th - the 72 final totals are now posted. Tomorrow (Sunday 10th) the Final of the 2005 Matchplay will be an all Maxstoke Park affair between Antony Gascoigne and Rob Browning - for full details click
Doughill takes Midland U16s honours for 2004
With two rounds of 72, it was a great performance from one of the youngest of the Warwickshire contingent in the 2004 Midland Boys at Moseley GC. With our County having won this Post and Mail trophy for Midland Boys itself, each of the last three years, expectations were high throughout but eventually only Chris Doughill was able to claim a Midland Trophy.
