- The 2012 Team Fixtures
This feature includes all the Warwickshire Team matches for 2012 - for the Mens, Juniors (inc U16s and U14s) and the Seniors. For players and supporters for the Mens' team, please note that Midland League Matches now start in May, not June.
- THESE BOYS ARE GOOD! (with apologies to the USPGA website)
Saturday 3 September 2011, 9.00 a.m. saw our team of six boys plus one reserve assembled at Broughton Heath, a testing 18 hole par 3 course of 3,125 yards, with holes between 110 and 206 yards, average 172, SSS 57.
- Dramatic loss to Staffordshire
Saturday 30th July - Boys vs Staffordshire at Ladbrook Park GC - We approached this match knowing that the winner would probably win the Western division of the Boys' MGU League and progress to the final against the East. Things looked pretty good when the foursomes stood at 2 - 2 with our other pair 3 up with 4 to play. That?s when we might have guessed all might not go well as we declined to dormie one, and then three putted the last. 2 ? - 2 ?.
- Boys v Derbys - Copt Heath
Sunday 5th June - Warks 7 1/2 Derbys 7 1/2 -Because of exams and injury, we were forced to field 4 rookies for this match. Absentees included Nathan Ray (shoulder injury) and Luke Allen ('A' Levels), two of our top four, so we were, to say the least, expecting a hard day.
- EGU Midland Ten Counties Qualifier - not our best year
The format is teams of 6, playing 36 holes medal, with aggregate of best 5 scores in each round to count, the winning county to represent the Midlands in the National Finals in August. So how did we do and what went on?
- Warks U16s and U14s vs Staffs
Warwickshire Under 16s Under14s took on their counter parts from Staffs County on Sunday 22nd May. The match took place at the Uttoxeter Golf club in horrendous conditions (ie wind and rain).
- Win One in 2011 League for Warwickshire Boys
Having beaten Worcestershire 7-1 only in the 4 Counties a few weeks ago, it was felt necessary to remind our lads that last time we did this, we lost in the League. How right we were to be cautious!
