• The Warwickshire are the winners

    After six rounds of tough competition throughout the season, 66 teams slowly became whittled down to just two. For the remaining two teams I think it was fair to say that one represents the new generation of Warwickshire Golf and the other, lets call them, 'experienced'.

    The 2010 Bainbridge Shield Final - Handsworth GC - Sunday 10th October - Nick Clifford & Steve Dyson vs Karl Smith & Dave Westwood. On a beautiful day, for just the second time in many years, the Bainbridge was played between the A and B teams of a club.

    The Warwickshire Cup Final 2009 - The Warwickshire GC - Saturday 21st Match - The Warwickshire vs Stoneleigh Deer Park. For the third time in four years, the Warwickshire have kept the trophy their club donated 10 years ago, the annual Winter Inter Club Scratch Foursomes competition that keeps our best players on the course outside of the golf season.

  • Sizzling Season's Finale

    The 2008 Bainbridge Final - Sutton Coldfield GC - Friday 30th October - Maxstoke have (very surprisingly) not held the Bainbridge Shield, the Counties premier interclub scratch competition, for 26 years, since the days of Tony Allen. 'Considering the quality of golfer they have produced, its an amazing fact,' said WU president John Duncombe. That wait is over.
