'I'M BACK! |
2007 Warwickshire Open - Monday 3rd September - Maxstoke Park GC - With a second round of 68 (-3) Rory Kirwan signaled to the golfing world that he is back in action and as good as before his terrible accident in June, where he nearly severed his wrist. His two round total was two shots better than Runners Up Andy Sullivan and professional Matt Morris - both past winners of this famous trophy.

MORE from the Warwickshire Open |
| Sponsored by Jaguar Cars, there were two of the sponsor's latest models on view next to the first tee - 'bad parking' said one player. For the 22 Amateurs in the field, a Jaguar is way outside the prize value of the unpaid game whilst a number of the professionals playing do have tour aspirations where a beautiful motor car can be driven away. However the Open was the second day in succession where Amateurs had upstaged the Pros. |

Randle's Treble in the Open, sponsored by Jaguar Cars |
Edgbaston GC - Tuesday 20th September 2005 - Paul Randle capped a great year for himself, and returned the Open title to Warwickshire Amateur golf, with a two round total of 133 (-5) to beat the 2003 (and Professional) Champion Adrian Carey by two shots. It was impressive golf from a player who had set himself the target of one win in a Warwickshire Championship and was now having to consider a much bigger trophy cabinet for three of the four titles he could play for.

Phillips denies Cryer the Treble |
| The Warwickshire Open 2004 – Olton GC – Wednesday 1st September
Olton was playing tough for the 40 competitors for the 2004 Warwickshire Open, despite one of the best days weather for golf this Summer. Our Amateurs found the par of 69 very difficult, through some tough pins and fast greens. The Professionals, who only qualified from their Championship last week, faired a little better and the two first round leaders were Russell Smith (Sutton Coldfield) and Craig Phillips (Nuneaton) on 68 (-1).

The Warwickshire Open - an Amateur win in 2004? |
By finishing in the Top 25 in the Amateur, our players can then qualify for the Warwickshire Open to be held at Olton Golf Club on the 1st September 2004. For the last three years this title has been held by Matt Morris and twice by one of our ex Amateur Champions, Adrian Carey. Morris came close to qualifying for the European Tour whilst Carey now has found he plays his best golf by not over committing himself. He will be there as will our best Amateurs ....

Carey takes it less seriously … and wins |
| Adrian Carey returned to the winners circle and a years custody of the Warwickshire Open trophy once again with rounds of 66 and 69 over a very tough Rugby GC course, a course playing like a tough links with a bit of wind.
He was two ahead of two Amateurs, the finalists from the Warwickshire Matchplay, Paul Randle and the Champion Matt Cryer.
