- Fabulous Madeira P III - Golf on Porto Santos - and with the European Tour.
My final visit was the the 'hop' to Madeira's little sister, which takes just a few minutes. Both airports examples of how much has been invested in the infrastructure for the two islands as when Madeira's airport is closed through fog, planes are diverted to Porto Santos. Stay on the smaller island or venture over, and you are going to somewhere very different, more 'modern'.
- Palheiro Golf and Hotel
On my trip we stayed our first night at the 5* Palheiro Hotel. Once a Hunting Lodge dating back from 1810, its owners now are the Blandy Family, and what an estate it is!

These islands (and there are two you will visit - Madeira itself and its very near neighbour Porto Santos) lie north of the Canaries, two incredibly spectacular remains from prehistoric volcanic activity, and with anything like good visibility from the plane, you know before the wheels touch down you are going to somewhere quite special.
