The Old and the New
The Costa Del Sol has always been a great place for a holiday ever since the advent of GB to European tourism with the first package trips back in the 60s. Back then, only part of the Andaluisan Coast was ready to welcome holidaymakes and golf wasn't one of the reasons for two weeks fun in the Sun. Yet even then, under the flight path into Malaga Airport was a gem of a golf course with an attached hotel, a group which has now become part of the very best way to see Spain in the Paradors that are everywhere across the beauty of the Country.
JIMENEZ SETS NEW COURSE RECORD AT HACIENDA
Ryder Cup star Miguel Angel Jimenez set a course record at the superb new championship golf resort in Spain which he will be representing. The world number 23 shot a five-under-par 67 over the 7,300-yard Dave Thomas-designed Hacienda del Alamo, in Murcia, in a round that included seven birdies.

Costa Del Sol - THE RESORTS & GOLF
Marbella has lots of different sections - quieter parts, luxury hotels, shopping. The size and popularity of the beaches does vary as does how close they are to the coast roads. The most popular part of the town is Puerto Banus. It is rare to find one of the biggest department stores barely a par four from the beach but this happens in Puerto Banus because El Corte Ingles is on the north of a plaza, on either side are banks of luxury flats and on the south, the rather naff charms of the harbour, lined by restaurants and boutiques.
