Its nearly for both Broadie and Whitehouse
The Quinn Direct British Masters 2006 - Day 3. For Paul Broadhurst, Day 3 was reasonable but his irons did not give Paul the opportunities for a good score he wanted. Tom Whitehouse played seventeen holes at close to his best and then was 'golfed' on the last. Al that happened on 18 still could not take away from the fact that Tom is Top 10 in a huge European Tour event and that is all part of the learning experience -
Bad Weather Players
There are a number of great comebacks in golf, on days when the weather has combined with a tough and baked golf course (or tons of rain) and provide the opportunity for a player whose mastery of such conditions has been far better than anyone else in the field. The great Arnold Palmer did so at the PGA Championship in 1975, at Royal St Georges, when he defied such conditions to win from 7 back. Tiger Woods remarked, at the Phoenix Tournament late last year that he considered himself the very best in poor conditions so imagine if, after missing the cut in Dallas he had overnighted it to Birmingham and been given courtesy to join the field for the Daily Telegraph British Dunlop Masters, starting at +10, three shots over the cut mark?
British Masters 2004 – Day 3
Rain had swept through during Friday night, and stayed around to great the early starters which included Ian Poulter, Darren Clarke and Retief Goosen, all players who should make it into the NEC Invitational (in Akron later this year) by right. The Daily Telegraph British Masters had however, through the quality and depth of its field, become one of the ‘100’ World Ranking points Tournaments of 2004 and as such, its winner would be guaranteed a place in the aforementioned World Championship event.
