Wednesday 2nd July - Coventry Finham Golf Club - The Open 2008 Pre-Qualifying - next week, for the first of six years, Coventry will host Regional Pre-Qualifying for the 2008 Open, the first stage of an opportunity to play in the World's greatest championship for any quality golfer. The process of being awarded this opportunity was long and thorough but now The Open is coming to Coventry and you are welcome to come along and spectate!

NO MOBILE PHONES AT THE OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP |
| Spectators who are planning to attend The Open Championship, to be played at Carnoustie from Sunday 15 to Sunday 22 July 2007, are being advised that they will not be permitted to have mobile phones in their possession within The Open site. This policy is in line with other major golf championships, including last year's Ryder Cup at the K Club, and follows comments from players concerning the excessive numbers in evidence last year at Hoylake.

The 136th Open Championship comes to Carnoustie in 2007 from 19 July, and BBC Radio Five Live will once again go 'totally Open' and cover every piece of the action. On Thursday 19 and Friday 20, Nicky Campbell will present the breakfast show from the course (6 ? 9am) talking to top names with all the news and predictions for the day's play, and tracking the play of those early in the draw.
