Lewine MAIR entertained 140 members of the Warwickshire Ladies County Golf Association at their Spring Luncheon held at the Warwickshire Golf & Country Club on Monday 21st March. Her fantastic recall of events past and present, wit and anecdotes of certain tour players, both male and female who she knows well, had us all enthralled. Many of the assembled company knew her of old and it was a great time for renewing old friendships....

Once again our quiz mistress Pam Harben has set us a new challenge to keep us all occupied during the coming few months! The challenge this year, which Pam reassures me is easier than last year?s British Towns Quiz (which was hard!), is to find words within the word 'WARWICKSHIRE' from the given clues. All answers must be 4 letter words or more - no plurals. Charge is £ 1 per entry - each entry must be a pre-numbered entry. Copies of the quiz can be obtained from your Club Delegate (or Ladies' Captain) or ask any County committee member. Answers must be submitted to Pam Harben (address on entry sheet) by 30 September 2011. South Staffs Golf Club hosted the 2010 Charles Heeley Challenge Bowl on Wednesday 6th October. The competition is open to all Ladies in the Counties of Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire and this year some 55 Clubs participated with 94 Ladies competing.

Warwickshire won by 6 clear points over Staffordshire (who beat us by one point last year!!!) The Mary Turner Bowl is a competition played annually between Staffordshire, Hereford & Worcestershire and Warwickshire and was played at Whittington Heath Golf Course today, 14th October.

Olton Golf Club was the venue, the date Tuesday 16th March and approximately 100 guests waited with baited breath to see the highly acclaimed models representing WLCGA, strutting their stuff along the catwalk wearing clothing from Millarde Fashions of Wylde Green, Sutton Coldfield.
