Nuneaton returned to the top of the Mid-Warwickshire league this week, with an 8-0 home whitewash of last weeks leaders Leamington. Nuneatons winners were S. Ball 5 & 3, J. Melton 4 & 3, C. Fenton 3 & 2, B. Read 4 & 2, P. Sidwell 4 & 3, and Paul Sidwell 3 & 2.

| Nuneaton stormed into 2nd place in the table this week with a convincing 7.5 to 0,5 home win against Rugby. Richard Wright, Brad Read, Steven Frearson, Cimon Fenton and Jamie Melton all winning for Nuneaton. John Jones grabbing Rugby's only half point in his match with Adie Hall.

Mid ? Warwickshire Golf League - Week 1 report - Defending champions Hearsall stuttered in the pursuit of a second consecutive title with a defeat at Leamington by 5? to 2?. J. Goode with a stunning performance for the home side beating S. Foster of Hearsall, who went through the 2006 campaign undefeated. Other winners for Leamington were J. Callender and T. Wilson. L. Mallin and T. Ibbertson gaining wins for Hearsall, the latter by a best of the week 7 & 5. The halved game was between T. James and M. Davies. |

Olton Golf Club in Solihull is hosting a complimentary International Pairs Golf Day on Tuesday March 27 for golf club secretaries, captains and chairmen so they can discover more about the global tournament.
