- WARWICKSHIRE CELEBRATES A SUCCESSFUL MIDLANDS GOLF WEEK!
Between April 9th and April 15th 34 Warwickshire Golf Clubs and ranges took part in the second annual Midlands Golf Week . Events were held all over the County offering free coaching and Open Days to encourage new people to come and try the game and to meet members and get a feel for all that golf clubs have to offer.

The England Golf Partnership has just launched an excellent new website to help promote golf development programmes across the country. The Get into Golf website is being promoted nationally as part of a significant Get into Golf campaign and allows visitors to the site to see what golf development programmes are available in their county.
- Nuneaton take charge
Nuneaton returned to the top of the Mid-Warwickshire league this week, with an 8-0 home whitewash of last weeks leaders Leamington. Nuneatons winners were S. Ball 5 & 3, J. Melton 4 & 3, C. Fenton 3 & 2, B. Read 4 & 2, P. Sidwell 4 & 3, and Paul Sidwell 3 & 2.

Nuneaton stormed into 2nd place in the table this week with a convincing 7.5 to 0,5 home win against Rugby. Richard Wright, Brad Read, Steven Frearson, Cimon Fenton and Jamie Melton all winning for Nuneaton. John Jones grabbing Rugby's only half point in his match with Adie Hall.

Mid-WaCoventry stormed to 1st place in the table during week 3, just as they did in 2006; with a 7-1 home win against Purley Chase. Matt Cryer, Sam Dodds, Dan Baskott, John Taylor, and Jon Pascoe all winning for Coventry, Martin Haywood securing a consolation point for the visitors.

Mid ? Warwickshire Golf League - Week 1 report - Defending champions Hearsall stuttered in the pursuit of a second consecutive title with a defeat at Leamington by 5? to 2?. J. Goode with a stunning performance for the home side beating S. Foster of Hearsall, who went through the 2006 campaign undefeated. Other winners for Leamington were J. Callender and T. Wilson. L. Mallin and T. Ibbertson gaining wins for Hearsall, the latter by a best of the week 7 & 5. The halved game was between T. James and M. Davies.
