1st Team /
Warwickshire Team are on their way!
Your County 1st team are ready and prepared for the English County Finals next week at Long Ashton Golf Club just outside Bristol. There is a real air of excitement within the team especially amongst the youngsters for whom County Week itself was an experience!
The Week that was...............Simply the best!!
Warwickshire - Midlands South Division Champions - 2008 At long last I have had time to reflect on your County's success at Wellingborough back in June. The week itself has to be one of the most tiring but exciting and rewarding weeks I have ever experienced in my life.
Countdown to County Week Wellingborough GC 23rd - 27th June 2008.
In just under two weeks time the youngest squad ever to represent Warwickshire will be putting their skills to the test in our first ever 5day County Week. With three juniors and a further four players under the age of 21 history is being made!
Our (usual) slow start!
County Week Stage 1 - Day 1Monday 11th June - Burton-on-Trent GC - Today your team made a slow start to County Week, certainly not planned but something both Mens and Ladies teams seem to have the habit of doing (If you have a flick through the Mens section results you will see the same sort of pattern). Your Warwickshire Ladies also have the habit of coming right back into contention and that fight-back started this afternoon as they took the singles and nearly the match.
County Week - Semi-Finals - Day 1 - GREAT start
Copt Heath GC - 18th -20th July - With a 7.5-1.5 win against Caernarvon & Anglesey, Warwickshire Ladies had a great start in their quest to find a place in County Week Finals once again, in early September. The day began with a 2-1 win in the foursomes with a big 5&3 win for Lisa Barton and 2nds Captain Bev Belcher.
Stage Two once again.
Tuesday 14th June - Warwickshire will be 'at home' in the Midland Region semi-finals of County week after a fabulous performance from Captain Pat Hale's squad at the qualifying round at the Worcestershire which ended today with a win 5-4 against Worcestershire and Hereford Ladies.
