  • BIG BOUNCE BACK !!

A week ago l was writing the match report after a disappointing home loss to Northants and my final words referring to our next friendly away in Leicestershire were 'maybe we can produce some away magic to balance the books', and we did !!

  • Early Loss No 2!

Warwickshire 2nd Team v Northamptonshire 2nd Team - Venue - Harborne Golf Club 25th March 2012. With Springtime having arrived and the clocks gone forward the team (bar one!) arrived early at a very sunny Harborne Golf Club to begin my 2-year stint as 2nd Team Captain to take on reigning Anglian League champions Northamptonshire - their 1st and 2nd teams had won both their leagues in 2011 so this was going to be a stern test.

  • Seconds Suffer Singles Setback

Sunday 2nd October 2011 - Nuneaton Golf Club vs Staffordshire - We went into our last league match of the season knowing nothing short of victory was required for us to have a chance of winning the league. The usual run-up in the week leading up to the match saw me lose 3 players from my original selection (Rich Oddy called up to the firsts, Dale Marson was unable to get the day off from work and I had to drop out due to a tweaked back).

  • 2nds leave it late!

Sunday 4th September 2011 at Rugby Golf Club vsShropshire & Herefordshire - After our stunning comeback against Worcestershire, we had high hopes of carrying on our winning form against a Shropshire & Herefordshire side which we had comfortably beaten last season. The weather forecast was ominous as it looked like the morning foursomes would be played in heavy rain. As it happened we only had a light shower which stopped by 11.00 and after that waterproofs were no longer required.

  • Deputy Captain does his stuff

Warwickshire 2nds vs Worcestershire - Sunday 7th August at The Worcestershire Golf Club - On a windy day in Malvern, The seconds pulled off a Houdini like escape from defeat to turn around a morning foursomes loss.
