The Centenary Amateur - Stafford's title |
With perfect timing for a change in weather forecasts, the heavy rain confined to the night before the Centenary Amateur left Copt Heath in perfect condition for those who were going to score low. Two players took real advantage of greens that were like dart boards, yet still silky smooth and it was Copt Heath member Sam Hufton who was topping the leaderboard, along with Ben Stafford, past Midland Boys Champion after the first 18 |

Randle is Champion for 2005! |
| This report is a continuation of that for the morning round which saw Rob Steele and Louis Meryon tied for the lead in the 2005 Amateur on 69 (-3). For Gareth Jenkins, there was little consolation in playing the four holes on the back nine that had cost him so dearly in the morning round, in a total of nine shots better. The rest of his second round produced the same 74 as the morning but in a completely different manner. This was the first of so many stories of being close to taking the most prestigious title in Warwickshire Golf – and not quite making it |

Cryer’s woes as only Meryon and Steele break 70 |
Warwickshire Amateur Championship – 1st Round Report. There could have been some very good scoring on a perfect morning for golf, had players held together some bursts of very impressive scoring. Gareth Jenkins (Kenilworth) was –6 after 10 holes and with two par fives to come, was looking at a mid 60s round. |

Amateur Preview - A Year in the life of …. Rob Steele |
| For our best golfers, it’s a year long commitment to the game to play to the standards needed for County success and beyond. Its only at the very highest level that there is support and help for players to say go abroad for Winter golf and the opportunities to compete overseas when there is no competitive golf in the UK. |
