The 2008 Bainbridge Final - Sutton Coldfield GC - Friday 30th October - Maxstoke have (very surprisingly) not held the Bainbridge Shield, the Counties premier interclub scratch competition, for 26 years, since the days of Tony Allen. 'Considering the quality of golfer they have produced, its an amazing fact,' said WU president John Duncombe. That wait is over.

For the Draw CLICK HERE The Holders (Pictured) are Coventry, last year represented by Matt Cryer and Bill Nicolson. Bill is unfortunately recovering from a very serious illness and won't be playing this year - we wish him as speedy a recovery as is possible and look forward to his re-appearance in 2009 on the County scene.

The Final of the 2007 Bainbridge Shield - Olton Golf Club - Thursday 11th October - With three back nine birdies Coventry (in the form of last year's winners Matt Cryer and Bill Nicolson) took hold of the final and ended up 4&3 winners over Handsworth's Karl Smith and Dave Westwood. For most of the very first nine, it was Handsworth who were ahead.

The Bainbridge Shield 2006 - Draw Sheet
This feature includes the initial Bainbridge Shield Draw for this the interclub scratch foursomes Championships for Warwickshire Union member Clubs. This trophy has been won by many of the best players our County has produced, representing their 'home' golf clubs whilst often also being part of regional and nation teams. Like every WU Championship, winning the 'Centenary' Bainbridge will be extra special.
