HIGH QUARTER FINAL DRAMA |
2007 County Championships - Stratford-on-Avon Golf Club - Tuesday 1st May - 1st and QFs of the Matchplay. This was day of high drama and excellent golf, starting with Marsha Button beating Alexandria Meek (nee Cook) on Alex's return to top level golf. Alex has only just started to get her game back after five years away but it was a superb performance from Marsha, setting up a battle of the more 'senior' ladies in the draw as Marsha would go on to play Sue Westall in the quarters.

Fliss ends four year wait for second County Championships |
It has been a long wait but Fliss Johnson took her second County Championships by beating six time champion Claire Dowling on the 19th, today at Ladbrook Park. The golf was good but there were some nerves and for Claire, three lots of 36 holes in a row demands all her stamina, so the last few holes were tense as neither player could capitalise on any errors by their opponent.

A new 'Usual Suspect' makes the semi-finals. |
| Wednesday 10th May - The long head-to head record of Claire Dolwing vs Tracy Atkin will be added to again as the two 'veterans' of the later stages of our County Championships will once again do battle at Ladbrook tomorrow morning but Fliss Johnson will face a new challenge from Kerry Evans in the other semi as Fliss seeks a second County Championships.

Fliss leads the way |
Tuesday 9th May 2006 - Felicity Johnson added a second round 73 (level par) to her morning 71 to lead the qualifiers for the 2006 WLCGA County Championships, sponsored by Rydale Cars, but is concerned about some poor putting, to such an extent that Fliss has changed her putter and was receiving a putting lesson at 10.30pm the night before. The Championships will not be easy to win though as past and new contenders have all made it through to the matchplay |
