It can only be the Warwickshire Inter-Club League Final when 14 nervous lady amateur golfers have the opportunity of teeing up for an important match in the beautiful , yet challenging setting of the MENZIES WELCOMBE HOTEL SPA and GOLF CLUB at Stratford Upon Avon.

A glorious morning was equalled only by the wonderful golf at both League semi finals to-day. After a long and very competitive golfing season it is a pleasure to firstly congratulate The Warwickshire and Stratford upon Avon for qualifying for the semi final at Olton GC and to Shirley and Maxstoke Park for qualifying for the semi final at Kenilworth GC.

The FOUR semi finalists are now known after several months of interesting and close matches and the date for the semi finals is MONDAY 9th August 2010.

An event with one hundred and fifty six ladies and no man in sight can only be the League Supper! This bi-annual event attracted ladies from 21 out of the 25 clubs all anxious to see the public draw and find out who their opponents would be in the League in 2010.

Menzies Welcombe Hotel and Golf Club hosted the final of the WLCGA League on a beautiful but chilly September morning. The 7 players from Olton GC and their 7 match play opponents from Kenilworth GC, together with their caddies, arrived for an early tee time before 9 a.m.

Everyone was optimistic that after a fine weekend the 2009 League Semi Finals would be played in glorious sunshine, however this was not to be and sadly the matches were played in fine drizzle at both venues. This did not stop the competitors from playing some very fine golf though.
