The Schools Championships are now established as the first major tournament for all standards of Junior in the County and they were played this year on Tuesday 6th April at Rugby Golf Club.

The third and final round of the Stableford Series was played at Nuneaton GC on 28th October in warm sunshine and the scoring matched the weather.

Midlands South Girls Jamboree was held at Gay Hill Golf club on Sunday 6th September 2009 in very breezy conditions.

The Warwickshire Girls Championship was held at Moor Hall Golf Club on 24th August. The weather was cloudy for the morning round and after a long heavy shower at the start of the afternoon play, they finished in sunshine. The heavy shower made the rough punishing but despite that there were excellent scores. There was bound to be a new name on the Edgbaston Cup this year, the question was which one?

The Warwickshire Girls U15 Championship was held at Sutton Coldfield Golf Club on 19th August 2009. The course looked beautiful in the sunshine but the strong breeze made playing conditions tricky.

At the Girls' British Open Amateur Championship, played at the West Lancahsire Golf Club, Elizabeth Mallett from Sutton Coldfield Golf Club played her heart out over the three days. She reached the final on Friday 14th playing against another 15 year old from France, Perrine Delacour, to lose only by 2 holes.

The first Girls Championship run by the Midlands South Region was held at Studley Wood Golf Club in Oxfordshire on 5th August 2009. The 36 hole event was spared any rain and although a little wet underfoot, the course proved to be a good challenge for the top girls of the six counties.
