Round 1 of the Stableford series was played at Windmill GC on 8th April and was won by Melissa NICOL, Moor Hall GC, with 39 points. Group 1 - for Handicaps below 16 - was won by Katrina GANI, Shirley GC with 37 points on the back 9 from Charlotte HARTSHORN, Nuneaton, with Kyrie ROSS-MADDEN, Maxstoke Park finishing 3rd. Group 2 was won by Amber MacDONALD, Coventry GC with 37 points, with Hannah RICE, Nuneaton 2nd and Molly GILES-BROWN, Marston Lakes 3rd. The competition was played in lovely spring sunshine on a course in good condition, despite all the recent bas weather.

The third and final round of the Stableford Series was played at Nuneaton GC on 28th October in warm sunshine and the scoring matched the weather.

The opening round of the Girls Stableford Series for 2009 took place at Leamington & County on April 15th . Despite early morning thunder and lightning the competition went ahead, finishing in bright sunshine. Scoring was not easy after the rain and a strong wind for the first Warwickshire Girls event of the year.

Katrina Gani's score of 41 points at Windmill Village Golf Club on 30th October made certain of her position at the top of the Stableford Series table for 2009.

Handicaps tumbled over two days at the end of the girls? summer holidays. The events were the second round of the Warwickshire Stableford Series held at Wishaw followed by the Five Counties Championship hosted by Erewash, Derbyshire.

NEWS FROM JANE DENNICK - COUNTY JUNIOR ORGANISER - The second round of the series was held at Walmley GC on 31st May. The winner with 38 points was Hannah Pearl Wood, Nuneaton, followed by Gia Rhodes, Copt Heath with 36 points. Third place was taken by Katrina Gani of Shirley with 35 points. The winner of the first round at Ladbrook Park in April was Kerri Mirfield with 42 points followed by Fleur Davies with 40 points, both of Coventry, Finham. Leanne King, Shirley, took third place with 37 points. As Kerri was unable to play in the second round, the series is building up to an exciting finish at Edgbaston in October.
