WLCGA – The Team Squads
On a bitterly cold day, at Stratford Oaks GC, the majority of the Warwickshire County Ladies 1sts and 2nd Team Players gathered for a final Winter Training Session under the tutelage of Andy Dunbar, County Coach. It was too cold for the planned short game session, with snow forecast at anytime, so County Captain Pat Hale and Andy took the players onto the newly refurbished range for some work on wedge play and the mental side of the game.

These are the Fixtures for Warwickshire Ladies 1sts and 2nds Teams for 2005. Your support will be very welcome at any matches and caddies / trolley pullers will be especially welcome. This fixture list is taken from the WLCGA booklet which contains full details of all the activities of the Association for 2005 and includes so very interesting Features to help you with your game.

‘We came here knowing we were a good team – but we didn’t know how good were in comparison with the best. This bodes so well for the future, with the experience that it has given all the team – we can be back’, said a very proud Warwickshire Captain Pat Hale after her team’s heroic efforts.
MAGNIFICENT WIN FOR WARWICKSHIRE
The sun was definitely shining on Warwickshire’s yellow shirts for day two of the English County Finals at High Post, when they triumphed over Hampshire by 5 - 4 to put themselves right back into the game. The calibre of golf was phenomenal throughout the team and particularly in the top foursomes match which provided an exhibition of the highest level involving two ex-professionals and two former Curtis Cup golfers. In spite of losing to Hampshire’s top pair Kerry Smith and Sarah White, Claire Dowling and Tracy Atkin were four under par when they succumbed 3/2.
WARKS PUT UP A GOOD FIGHT AGAINST YORKSHIRE
Warwickshire ladies pulled out all the stops against Yorkshire in the first day of the English County Finals at High Post in Wiltshire in an exciting duel under the sun. Despite being 2 - 1 down after the morning foursomes they fought gallantly back to win the first three singles matches to narrowly lose by just 5 - 4.
