Midland Boys Championship - Thursday 19th July 2007 - Kirby Muxloe Golf Club. Three weeks ago Sam Dodds was umming and erring over whether to play in the Midland Boys. There had been the disappointment of his team not making it through to the Junior County Finals, of the same happening when he made his Warwickshire First Team debut in the County 10s qualifier for the 'senior' version of the County Finals, then being caught for the longest time in the worst of the weather at the England Schools. And he didn't feel Kirby Muxloe would suit his game. How wrong he was.

| Sunday 10th June 2007 - Boys Midland League matches - Home vs Derbyshire at ingon Manor GC. Your Boys team responded with a gritty 9-7 win against a very solid Derbys team - after the disappointment of losing out at Oswestry two weeks ago. The margin of the win was the smallest but your team are looking to have some sort of consolation for not making the English Finals.

The 2007 Midland Schools Championships - Horsley Lodge Derbyshire - Friday 1st June - The disappointment of losing out last Wednesday was hard to bear for our Boys team but three of that group, plus Andy Bate, had a chance to take something from this week and they did so with both hands, almost shutting out the other Midland Counties from the prizes completely - at least in the Boys section but the Girls are coming along very nicely!

Qualification drifts away |
| Midland region English Junior County Championship qualifier - Wednesday 30th May - Oswestry GC - After holding the halfway lead, the Warwickshire Junior Team saw their chances of making it through to the English County finals disappear as three Counties swept past our players. Our team did not produce high scores. It was more that the other three teams were playing very good golf.

Monday 14th May - John Simpson, Warwickshire Boys Team Manager, has just announced the Warwickshire team for just over two weeks time, on Wednesday 30th May at Oswestry GC, when we take on the other 9 Midland Counties for the one place available in the English Boys Finals at Royal Cromer GC in early September. Win One for 2007 - but its damm close! |
| Warwickshire Boys vs Worcestershire Boys - away at Blackwell GC - Sunday 6th April. After the 7-1 win over Worcs in the 4 Counties a couple of weeks ago, their Boys team had a big incentive to put a huge dent in the Warwickshire Boys hopes for the Midland League and to start their own season with a win. This match was close, very close, but Chris Freeman (playing in his first U18s Boys match) played the crucial golf that gave us the win.
