The 2005 Bainbridge Shield Final - Maxstoke Park GC on Sunday 23rd October |
 |
|
Two perhaps unexpected teams will contest the 2005 Bainbridge Final over 36 holes, playing for quite probably the largest trophy in Warwickshire Golf. Representing Atherstone will be Paul Walker and the 'veteran' Phil Challis (more later) and from Copt Heath Paul Harben and David Fleet. How these two teams got to the final included 'doubles' and KOs of spectators. |

Its Maxstoke in the Cup |
| The Warwickshire GC – Saturday 23rd April 2005. If the final was made by the fantastic support that Stratford-on-Avon GC brought along for their first appearance in a Warwickshire Championship final for over a decade, Stratford Captain John Pitts was very magnanimous in defeat saying ‘The better team won’ as his team, a mixture of youth and experience went down 3-0 to Maxstoke in the Warwickshire Cup final. For Maxstoke, missing three of their best juniors who were at Moor Hall for the 4 Counties, the win was very satisfying. |

Another Coventry win |
| The Bainbridge shield has not left the City of Coventry in recent years and today, at a glorious Sutton Coldfield GC, Coventry Finham returned the huge trophy to their clubhouse after it was a few miles across the city at Hearsall for 2003-2004. With some spectacular golf, David Hayes and Matt Cryer were nine under par in beating the Maxstoke team of County Juniors Ben Stafford and Rob Browning by 6& 4 |

The Draw for the Bainbridge Shield 2004 |
| The draw has been made for the Bainbridge Shield for 2004, the premier inter-club knockout in the County and one which has produced much drama in its long history. Its probably the largest trophy that the Warwickshire Union Club play for and one which would grace any clubhouse, and as such is very high on the priorities of the best players in the County. |
