Carey takes it less seriously … and wins
Adrian Carey returned to the winners circle and a years custody of the Warwickshire Open trophy once again with rounds of 66 and 69 over a very tough Rugby GC course, a course playing like a tough links with a bit of wind. He was two ahead of two Amateurs, the finalists from the Warwickshire Matchplay, Paul Randle and the Champion Matt Cryer.

NUNEATON GOLF CLUB There are number of young professionals in Warwickshire who have the potential to play on the European Tour. Matt Morris (24) was a junior at Handsworth, turned pro and went to Moor Hall before moving to Hatchford Brook a couple of years ago. Next week he joins 100 s of equally talented golfers in Stage 1 of the Tour Qualifying score but he will go along as Warwickshire Open Champion, having played Nuneaton with less mistakes than anyone else in the field ..
