• 1sts have last warm-up match and Selection starts for the Midland League

As you can see from the Team Sheet, we lost our annual match against Smoerset. However it was a very good work-out and highlighted the importance of short game and putting in general

  • The 2004 Warwickshire Amateur - Preview

The professionals have been and gone and on Monday 24th, our best amateurs will try to follow in the footsteps of our past Champions who have had so much success in all parts of the game. They will be playing 36 holes at Ladbrook Park and the defending Champion Rob Steele (Kenilworth) will be all out to defend his title against one of the strongest fields for years.

  • The 2004 JoM - First full Results

If you click on 'Junior Order of Merit' (Left), you will see the first update of the JoM for 2004 and heading the table is Andy Sullivan from Purley Chase after a win at the Schools and Runner-up places in the Boys and Mens Trials. Only 15% of the JoM points for 2004 have been distributed so far, so Andy has a long way to go and lots more golf to play if he is going to claim the JoM title.

From the final groups 22 players were within six shots of the lead held by Paul Broadhurst, playing a long Arden course in perfect conditions. No mistakes would be the requirement for the day plus taking advantage of any good approaches ….

It was a day of reckoning for Paul Broadhurst. Could he keep hitting fairways as he had done for the previous three round/ Would his aggressive putting, a carry over from his amateur and early professional times be rewarded? This was his story.

  • Warwickshire Day 3 – Broadhurst Moves and moves ….

The sole representative of ‘our’ guys left in the DailyTelegraph Damovo British Masters is Paul Broadhurst, looking to play significant ‘catch-up’ after injury has prevented him from playing for eight weeks. With a pretty impressive fairway hitting percentage (by necessity as the Forest bears more than a passing resemblance to a US Open course), Paul was out in match 32 and lying in a £25 000 or so prize money placing –
