Warwickshire 2nd's v Shropshire & Staffordshire - Kenilworth Golf ClubSunday 5th July 2009 - The first pairing on the golf course were Hearsall's Sam Foster & James Bromley. Sam was a little rusty after just returning from his Greek holiday but he and James still had a little too much for their opponents and closed the match out with a 1 up win to get the 2nd's off to flying start.

Wednesday 24th June 2009 - The Open Regional Pre-Qualifying - Coventry Finham Golf Club. With the sort of golf Seve would have been proud - for the last three holes - Andy Sullivan clawed his way to the opportunity to play one of his most favorite golf courses - and in The Open. Andy apart, is was a good day for Warwickshire (Professionals) as well, all once our Amateur stars.

The 2009 Warwickshire Seniors Championship - Monday 22nd June - Sutton Coldfield GC - In preparation for next year's English Amateur Championships, Sutton Coldfield have started to grow their rough. Around the greens it might soon match that of the US Open, so winning this year's Seniors required skill and straight hitting, and some nerve. Would the pre-tournament favorite Andrew Carman (by dint of his handicap of one) succeed?

Mens English County Championship Qualifier - Saturday 20th June 2009 - Sandwell Park Golf Club. There are two things that are normally certain for this Championship. No 1 is that it is the most pressurised golf anyone can play and No 2 is that the host County always does respectably well, but 'home' advantage is always too much. Today at Sandwell, No 1 led to the tightest finish and No 2 didn't happen.
