Today 1st April is the start of our County's Secretary Graham Hayes' retirement. He's yet to divulge how he and his wonderful wife Glenda plan to spend their time but Graham will be missed - although of course there is very able new secretary in Matt Nixon who will be in charge at the Men's Trials next Sunday (10th) and will be visiting every Warwickshire Club in the coming few months.

Sunday 27th March 2011 - Harborne Golf Club vs Leicestershire. The second friendly this season, for the Warwickshire seconds, was held at Harborne GC on Sunday 27th March 2011. I had some of my 'big guns' from last season back at my disposal, but others were either unavailable or had been snaffled up by Dave for the firsts (two players being called up to the firsts in the week running up to the match!)

1st V Leicestershire & Rutland friendly - Sunday 27th March 2011 at Park Hill Golf Academy. Our second friendly took us to Park Hill Golf Club, only one of our team had ever stepped foot onto this course and it showed with our foursomes results.

Saturday 19th March 2011 - The Warwickshire Golf Club - By winning two of the three foursomes matches in this annual Winter Inter-Club competition, Coventry retained the impressive Warwickshire Cup trophy beating Ladbrook Park, but the wins were very different.

Sunday 20th March 2011 at Kingsthorpe Golf Club vs Northamptonshire - Our first friendly match of the season was held on Sunday 20th March against Northamptonshire at Kigsthorpe G C. We were greeted by a beautiful Spring morning and the weather remained very pleasant for the whole day

What a fantastic start to our 2011 campaign! On arrival early Sunday morning Rugby Golf Club looked in great condition, the team was in good spirits and I got the feeling after a long winter all were keen to get out on the course to start the year off.
