2007 SENIORS CHAMPIONSHIPS - RESULTS
The 2007 Warwickshire Seniors Championships played at Kenilworth Golf Club on Monday 25th June - These are the full results of this Championship, held on a day when most of the County was being washed away. Kenilworth did a magnificent job in making the course playable, their Captain Brian Melling presented the prizes and a Kenilworth member (Albert McKay) took the 65-69s title.
Double 'T' Tatton takes double title
Warwickshire Seniors 2007 - Kenilworth GC - Monday 25th June - Geoff Tatton could not believe it when he won his first Seniors title just a couple of years ago. Introduced to the 'Seniors' game by John Lawton, Geoff thought that was his one year of Championship success. Proudly installed as Seniors Captain this year, Geoff has been leading your Seniors team to not a lot of success yet (but they have enjoyed every match) and today was back to the individual game. Someone was on Geoff's' side today - 'I had the very luck of the Devil' - as he bounced of trees back into play and chipped in twice.
ENGLISH SCHOOLS CHAMPIONSHIPS 2007
Walsall Golf Club - Monday 25th June - There was only one bit of success for Warwickshire juniors playing in the 29th English Schools Championship. With all the rain, Walsall was already saturated and the first hour of play was in more heavy rain. It severely affected the chance of James Smith and especially Sam Dodds who were both early starters for us.
COUNTY FINALS QUALIFYING 2007
Coventry Finham Golf Club - Saturday 24th June - Its rare that a team qualifies for the County Finals from any of the four regional competitions with an under par score. Only the winners go through each year, so this year when there were four teams all under par from their 12 round totals, it was some special golf played by all those four teams. Unfortunately Warwickshire were the third of those four teams and will not be going to Cleveland at the end of September.
