The 2007 Warwickshire Matchplay - DRAW SHEET
Moor Hall Golf Club - Friday 8th June and Sunday 10th June - This is the draw sheet for the 2007 Matchplay - for a PDF CLICK HERE There are some interesting quarter-finals and possible semi-final clashes - in R1 there is the all Rugby clash of Dale Marson vs Ollie Foster, whilst present Juniors Andy Bate and Michael McCormack take on recent graduates from our Junior ranks Andy Sullivan and Jon Wetton, Jon just back from US University. The 'vets' clash (they are both mid-late 20s!) is David Hayes vs Paul Harben.
Everyone's a Winner
Midland League 2007 - Round 1 - Sunday 3rd June - 1sts away at Chesterfield & 2nds home at Robin Hood - It was smiles all round as both our teams started their 2007 campaigns with good wins - very good wins! Away at Chesterfield, Gareth Jenkins was in charge of his first 'competitive' match and the first result in from the morning was a loss. Then the winning started -
Back to winning ways
The 2007 Midland Schools Championships - Horsley Lodge Derbyshire - Friday 1st June - The disappointment of losing out last Wednesday was hard to bear for our Boys team but three of that group, plus Andy Bate, had a chance to take something from this week and they did so with both hands, almost shutting out the other Midland Counties from the prizes completely - at least in the Boys section but the Girls are coming along very nicely!
The 2007 Warwickshire Amateur Championship - RESULTS
This is the full results, both gross and team, for the 2007 Amateur played at Moor Hall GC on Tuesday 29th May. Notable record breaking did include Matt Cryer beating the 36 hole score of James Cook from the last time the Amateur went to Moor Hall in 1989, by one shot, with his eight under par total of 132. The team trophy also went to Coventry after a 20 year break, their last win being in 1987.
Qualification drifts away
Midland region English Junior County Championship qualifier - Wednesday 30th May - Oswestry GC - After holding the halfway lead, the Warwickshire Junior Team saw their chances of making it through to the English County finals disappear as three Counties swept past our players. Our team did not produce high scores. It was more that the other three teams were playing very good golf.
Matt's Double
Warwickshire Amateur Championship 2007 - Moor Hall GC - Tuesday 29th May. With a superb 65 and then a 67, Matt Cryer took his second Amateur title over the lush fairways of Moor Hall, setting records along the way and dominating to the extent that he was six shots better than the runners-up Andy Sullivan and Dale Marson.
