Chris Quinn wins Senior Ladies English Amateur Championship
And Warwickshire President Sue Westall takes the Championship Plate. Trevose GC Monday 13th August through to Friday 18th.Chris Quinn (South Winchester) has won the Senior Ladies English Amateur Championship having beaten Liz Boatman, local member 4&3 in the final.
The Girls gang up on the Boys!
The 2004 Warwickshire U11s at Lea Marston Par 3 course nearly produced a 1-2-3 for the superb Warwickshire girls. They were foiled by Nathan Ray from Maxstoke who played the nine in just 2 over par but the girls filled the next three places, including a superb performance from relatively inexperienced Lauren Taylor to come in 4th.
What a day to break 80 for the first time!
North Warks GC – Tuesday 3rd August 2004 – For the first time in her career (and not the last) Charlotte Dalton broke 80. It was around a course she does not play very often and it gave Charlotte 4th place overall in the U15s, one of the best performances by a Girl in a number of years.
The ELGA Closed – no more Warwickshire representation
The ELGA English Closed Championships continues today Friday 21st May with the quarter finals – and no more Warwickshire representation. Making the headlines after R1 of the matchplay was Claire Howells having disposed of a Curtis Cup player (for more detail, please read the main body of this editorial).
