1st match of the year - Juniors vs Notts |
| Sunday 18th March 2007 - Ramsdale Park, Nottinghamshire - Junior Team Manager John Simpson took his 2007 Warwickshire Juniors up to Notts for the annual pre-season match against that County, knowing that this would be a chance to put aside any thoughts of the losing finish to 2006. This was accomplished in part, but the arrival of Spring snow mid morning made only the foursomes possible to play.

Oh so near - a Profile of the 2006 Junior Team |

This was a 'nearly' year. We started with a very promising group of players who lived up to our hopes by winning the Four Counties tournament for the sixth successive time with mostly excellent and occasionally spectacular golf. Two League wins did nothing to concern us but failing to qualify for the EGU finals by a single stroke (755 against 754) seemed to take the wind out of our sails and absences and injuries seemed to multiply as we lost two league games narrowly, the final one being 7 - 8 to Shropshire & Herefordshire, the match being to decide our group winners. The following players represented Warwickshire Boys:

The scoring, as you will read, was high (to say the least) - but there were specific reasons for that. There were some highlights though -

One shot from glory |

Our superb Junior team, after the inspiration of coming so close at last years County Championships finals, were tantalisingly close to a return to the premier team competition for Juniors in England. It all came down to a hatful of chances, spread over the whole team of six, for a crucial putt to drop as we lost by just once shot to the 2004 qualifiers Shropshire & Herefordshire!

Birdie Blitz for Record 6 - in the 4s |
| Saturday and Sunday 22nd and 23rd April 2006 - Boys 4 Counties - Cleobury Mortimer GC.
Having rewritten the record for successive wins in 2005, Warwickshire Boys re-wrote the record again with an emphatic 3-0 defeat of Worcs, Gloucs and Staffs and our team included some impressive play to let any opposition know that the very best golf will be needed to beat another year of highly talented Warwickshire Juniors.
