The Volvo PGA – Day 1 – Ernie Rules |
| This is the end of May so the overnight rain had to clear away to leave a sublime Wentworth all ready for a sublime golfer to produce his best strokeplay round (so far) … at his home course. Whilst Vijay Singh has made no secret of his aims (to topple Tiger from No1 spot in the World Rankings) and has already closed the ‘Tiger’ gap, in actual fact an Els win this week will see the South African take over as No2 from Singh. |

Reflections of a Champion and on a Championship |
 |
|
For Warwickshire golfers, this was a special week. It was a chance (the only one this year) to see what was an excellent field in a European Tour Event and what made things even better was that one of our ex-amateurs Paul Broadhurst was one of the ‘stars’ for the week. Paul is already a proven winner and his 5th place at the Forest a sign he is returning to top form. He played the last two rounds in the company of his very good friend Barry Lane, the eventual winner. This is Lane’s reflections on his win, but first, what about the Marriott Forest of Arden. What sort of week did they have? |

The Final day at the British Masters. |
| A trio of ‘golden oldies’ was leading with the final round to go at the Daily Telegraph Damovo British Masters. Monty was on the fringe of contention, playing without thinking of goals. From the final groups 22 players were within six shots of the lead held by Paul Broadhurst, playing a long Arden course in perfect conditions. No mistakes would be the requirement for the day plus taking advantage of any good approaches …. |

Warwickshire at the British Masters – Day 4 |
 |
|
It was a day of reckoning for Paul Broadhurst. Could he keep hitting fairways as he had done for the previous three round/ Would his aggressive putting, a carry over from his amateur and early professional times be rewarded? This was his story. |

Warwickshire Day 3 – Broadhurst Moves and moves …. |
| The sole representative of ‘our’ guys left in the DailyTelegraph Damovo British Masters is Paul Broadhurst, looking to play significant ‘catch-up’ after injury has prevented him from playing for eight weeks. With a pretty impressive fairway hitting percentage (by necessity as the Forest bears more than a passing resemblance to a US Open course), Paul was out in match 32 and lying in a £25 000 or so prize money placing – |
