Was the 30 year wait over?
It was 1974, with a member of the WLCGA Team by the name of Sue Westall, that Warwickshire last played in County Finals. After two days of the 2004 competition, the Warwickshire team knew that any Northants match win against Caernarvon and Anglesey would take Northants through – BUT – if our team could post a big win, and Northants were to lose, the long long wait would be over …..
Warwickshire back on winning form
Day Two of the ELGA Sub Divisional Finals at Sherwood Forest proved a winner for Warwickshire as the team recorded an overwhelming 7 ? - 1 ? victory against Caernarvonshire and Anglesey.
ELGA Sub-Divisional Finals
DISAPPOINTING START FOR WARWICKSHIRE ? Day One of the ELGA Sub Divisional Finals at Sherwood Forest proved to be a tough start in Warwickshire?s bid to make this year?s County Finals in September at High Post.
County Week 2004 – Stage 1 – a wonderful start!
Over the very beautiful (and difficult) Whittington Heath GC, Pat Hale’s Warwickshire 1st team have made a wonderful start in trying to make it through to the semi-finals of the County Championship. If you want to see the best golfers in the Midlands, playing a wonderful course, then do make it to Whittington for Tuesday or Wednesday (15th & 16th June). This is the story of Day 1.
The County First Team battle it out in terrible weather against Leicestershire Ladies
Rain may have stopped play but it didn?t dampen any enthusiasm amongst the Warwickshire players as they continue to perform strongly in the run up to the Inter-County Championships.
It’s a winning start for Pat Hale, our Captain.
First match of her two year appointment and Pat Hale was selecting a team to take on the mighty Lancashire Ladies, winners of the National title just two years ago. The result of this ‘presidential’ match was 10-2 to Lancashire last year at the venue Weetabix British Ladies Open of 2003, Royal Lytham. This year, our Ladies were out to even the result and they did that in a very entertaining match full of excellent golf from both sides.
