Here are the answers to the British Place Names Quiz that has been running throughout the summer. It has been an enormous success and I believe the highest scoring entrants must have been studying maps every single day. Very well done to all those who took up the challenge. Apart from have a bit of fun, the purpose of the quiz was also to raise some funds for use by our talented junior girls. With an entry fee of 1 pound, a total of 520 pounds was raised, a magnificent amount

- THE SEASON'S BEST 2005
My third year as County Competition Secretary has proved as enjoyable and interesting as the first two and I have again been privileged to observe some great performances on the golf course and certainly seen the wonderful scores as a result. Throughout the County competitions, Felicity Johnson from Harborne Golf Club has risen to even greater heights by winning the 2005 English Closed Championship at Burnham and Berrow Golf Club in May.
