Sophie THOMPSON aged 14 was the outright winner of the Lee Westwood tournament at the end of a 3 day Academy at The Warwickshire Golf Club.

At the recent Forest of Arden Club Championship, a 36 hole Gross competition played over 2 days, Kyrie Ross Madden took the title. Kyrie, aged 17 has only been playing golf since 2007 and has a handicap of 11. She is also a member of Maxstoke Park Golf Club and has now made it two in a row, having taken the title in 2009 as well.

Robin Hood GC hosted the Warwickshire Girls Championship in glorious sunshine on 3rd June 2010. There was a good turnout despite some players missing due to exams and England squad training.

On one of the hottest days so far this year the team faced Worcestershire & Herefordshire in the first Midlands South league match of the year. Copt Heath was the venue and the match was played on Sunday 23rd May. The exams season meant some of our most experienced players were unavailable, so how did the team fare?

Hannah Rice from Nuneaton GC added excitement to the afternoon at Walmley GC when she holed her Tee shot on the 108 yard, 5th hole. This is Walmley's signature hole, playing from an elevated tee over water, with out of bounds behind the green - well done Hannah. To top her day, in the evening, she was introduced to European Tour Professional, Paul Broadhurst!

This match against Staffordshire was held at Coventry GC on Sunday 9th May 2010. On this occasion the final result was very close, with Staffordshire coming out the victors by 4 matches to 3 in the scratch matches and 3 matches to 0 in the handicap matches.
