  • The Walker Cup beckons

Last Monday Andy Sullivan set off to play in his second European Tour event, invited to the the Czech Open after his performance in 2010 in the Czech Amateur and his position as World No 6 Amateur (the highest ranked European!). He boarded the plane after a phone call from Nigel Edwards, Walker Cup Captain, to say he will represent GB & I at Royal Aberdeen in mid September.

  • Two Down - Two to go

The 2011 Warwickshire U14s and U12s - Tuesday 16th August - North Warwickshire Golf Club - In preventing Max Martin doing the 'three-peat' of U14s wins, fellow Copt Heath member Stefan Gnyla set up his own march towards a 'quad' of Warwickshire Boys titles. Stefan did so by mastering the hard conditions presented to all with Faldo like pars whilst everyone else made mistakes.

  • Deputy Captain does his stuff

Warwickshire 2nds vs Worcestershire - Sunday 7th August at The Worcestershire Golf Club - On a windy day in Malvern, The seconds pulled off a Houdini like escape from defeat to turn around a morning foursomes loss.

  • Back to winning ways

1st V Worcestershire at Shirley Golf Club - Sunday 7th August at Shirley GC - Third match of the season and we needed to put in a good performance to turn our fortune around following two defeats at Harborne and Erewash valley. The foursomes have always been somewhat of a struggle for us so this match I decided to change the pairings hoping this would give us a morning win.

  • And Finally - Ray takes a deserved County Title

The 2011 Boys Matchplay - The Final - Friday 5th August 2011 at Ingon Manor Golf & Country Club - With some consummate tee-to-green golf Nathan Ray claimed his first County title - in his last junior championship before he enters the ranks of senior golf. It was Olton's Michael Pell who had to try and compensate for some errant shot-making before the putting greens where he had to hole some yardage to stay with Nathan, that is after having given up a two hole advantage before the Final even started.
