The semi-finals and finals of the 2004 WLCGA County Championships report by David Morgan and Captain Pat Hale – its another win (after three years) for Claire Dowling – but its very close and one of the semi-finals is a classic.
Claire Dowling already has shown some wonderful form this season and it continued through the 2004 Country Championship. In a hard fought and oh so tight match against Tracy Atkin, Claire prevailed with a superb birdie four at the last – but more of that later ….

Lots and lots of promise. |
| With Hannah Coles not finding early season strokeplay form, and last year’s Girls Captain Stacey Edwards having a poor day, it was an opportunity for one of the group of up and coming 13-15 year old Warwickshire girl golfers to show that they have what it takes to be a champions, like Felicity Johnson and Hannah, and it was Charlotte Dalton who took the Girls trophy with an excellent 84 over the testing Henley Golf and Country Club course. |
