Crans-sur-Sierre, Switzerland - Robert Karlsson s impregnable hold on the European Masters was finally broken on Saturday as Eduardo Romero vaulted to the top.
And in addition to displacing the tall Swede, the 49-year-old Argentine can become the oldest European Tour champion by one year and 18 days if he wins the title on Sunday.
Romero shot 67 and Els 68. Karlsson is now third, a level-par 71 knocking
him three shots shy of the lead.
