Sport-Golf Irish Open By Brian Creighton PORTMARNOCK, Ireland ( for Warksgolf) |
 |
|
Sunday - Pay Day - Paul Broadhurst has the confidence gained from a solid round in difficult conditions to take with him into this week s Scandinavian Masters in Malmo. A level-par 72 does not by itself sound impressive, but when you add the stiff wind blowing when he started and the heavy showers that struck midway through, it was a considerable achievement.

THE DAILY TELEGRAPH DAMOVO BRITISH MASTERS - FINAL ROUND |
| Fresh from his sister s 21st birthday party, Justin Rose produced his best round of the week to take some positives across the Atlantic with him later on this evening. His 67 took him under par and was typical of all four rounds at this year s event, playing the front nine well (and for this round managing to come in at two under for the back nine). |

Celtic Manor Wales Open - Day 3 |
 |
|
Ian Poulter, swinging well and with lots of confidence, notably talking about Ryder Cups and stuff (Could Poulter be the Dottie Pepper of a EuropeanTeam in the greatest team championship in golf?) would turn the 2003 Wales Open into a procession if he was not pressurised early. Aggressive golf is Poulter’s forte, and with illness tempering his pushiness (towards his golf - Poulter has become much more of a likeable character in the past few years).

Volvo PGA 2003 - Day 4 |
| HEADLINE - THE 36 HOLE TOURNAMENT IN THE US IS OVER - AT THE VOLVO PGA, ITS SHOTMAKING IN THE WIND BY THE BEST FIELD OF THE YEAR AND A TOP LEADERBOARD.
Taking a six shot rule there were 20 players within the said number of the lead on the final day of the 2003 Volvo PGA, all having a chance to win over £400 000, one of the most impressive trophies in golf, and a place on a roll of honour which has a distinguished pedigree. |

THE LEADERBOARD
-14 - Trevor Immelman after a 64 - I played a nearly perrfect round of golf except for the three putt on 15. That was pretty much as good as I can play. It was a lot of fun to be able to be out there with Ernie and shoot a round like that.

Volvo PGA 2003 - Day 2 |
| TODAYS HEADLINES - ANNIKA DONE GREAT, THE MONTY CADDY STORY IS A NON STORY - AND THE LEADERBOARD IS BUBBLING UP VERY NICELY WITH THE ROCK OF LICHFIELD JUST OFF THE LEAD.
Two weeks ago Paul Casey said that he changes caddies regularly, not quite as often as his underpants but most vices and a lack of the right continual on-course psychology leads to the new English No 1 requiring plenty of P60 s from the Stationary office of the Inland Revenue.
