Its been a 'nearly' year for our top golfers and Warwickshire teams, for both the Ladies and Men. With so much talent in our County, but with the competition being so stiff, the National Championships and the biggest individual championships are very hard to win and between Christmas and New Year, come back for our reviews of the year. - THE DAWN OF A NEW ERA AT THE PGA
History is to be made today when Beverly Lewis becomes the first woman to captain The Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA). She has been the lady-in-waiting for the last two years as captain elect and succeeds John Yeo to the post following the PGA’s Annual General Meeting being held at The DeVere Belfry near Sutton Coldfield.
- Warwickshire teenager takes a bite out of golf history books
SATURDAY FEBRUARY 12th, CITY AIRPORT, LONDON – A fourteen year-old golfer planned to set a new Under-15 UK record for the longest drive and ended up not only smashing the women’s European record, but setting a new world record as well. The event was officially measured and adjudicated by Long Drivers of Europe (LDE).

For 2004 we have decided to present to you our first ‘Golfer of the Year’. There is no trophy, no honours board and we have not looked at purely golfing performance in presenting our case for this particular person. What we considered was a contribution to the game of golf in Warwickshire, playing performance, personality and success. Everyone who played for the 1sts and 2nds, who was part of a year of superb success, was wonderful but our Golfer of the Year was a certain ……
