• SILVER & BRONZE DIVISION TROPHIES 2012 RESULTS

    During the 1st day of the 36 hole County Championship, players can also register to play for the Silver & Bronze Division Trophies, Medal and Stableford rounds respectively,over 18 holes. Ladbrook Park Golf Club again was the venue for these competitions, played on Monday 30th April 2012. Weather was good on the day, but after the terrific storms of the previous week and particularly the previous day, we all wondered whether the course would be playable.....

    What a day!! We woke to rain this morning and the qualifiers were out all morning playing in Round 1 of the knockout series. How wet they were - nothing stayed dry even with umbrellas, waterproofs and caddies and they all came in for lunch looking like drowned rats!!.....

    After the weather we have suffered during April and particularly the downpoor of yesterday, most of the players did not think they would be playing at Ladbrook Park GC on Monday morning. However, due to the hard work of the Greens staff, the course did in fact open and looked splendid with the greens running true and quite fast......

    The 2012 Warwickshire Schools Championships - Stonebridge GC - Tuesday 10th April - There were three Category 1 Girl Golfers in this year's Schools field - and none of them won the trophy, or took the runners-up position!

  • ELIZABETH MALLETT WINS AGAIN

    At Whittington Heath Golf Club recently, Elizabeth Mallett scored a 1st round two under par 70, before adding a new course record of 5 under par 67 later in the day. She finished with a total of 137 which was 6 shots clear of the field and was delighted to do so, as she had lost in a 3 way play-off in 2011. Congratulations Elizabeth and all the best in your forthcoming exams.

  • CLAIRE DOWLING's NEW ROLE

    We are pleased to announce that Claire DOWLING has been appointed Chair of the Handicap and Course Rating Committee for England Golf. This new role encompasses decision making, with her committee, for all Mens and Ladies golf in England. She also sits on the Club Services Committee (as handicapping comes under that) and also the CONGU Board. We, at Warwickshire would like to wish her well in her new role - she is going to be one busy lady!
