By finishing in the Top 25 in the Amateur, our players can then qualify for the Warwickshire Open to be held at Olton Golf Club on the 1st September 2004. For the last three years this title has been held by Matt Morris and twice by one of our ex Amateur Champions, Adrian Carey. Morris came close to qualifying for the European Tour whilst Carey now has found he plays his best golf by not over committing himself. He will be there as will our best Amateurs ....

- From fifth to First - the 2nds take the Midland title
At 8 am on Sunday (5th), the Warwickshire 2nds were in 5th place in the Midland League. They were, however, just one point off the top of the table and just 2.5 individual games behind the leaders, Worcestershire, who were playing Staffordshire. John Crawford, 2nd Team Captain, had just a few words for his team before they went out for the deciding match at home (at Ladbrook Park) against Derbyshire - We need a big win, guys!

Youth to the Fore With Stratford s new bunkering in play, and greens which were still very early Spring like, conditions were tough for the 72 competitors in the 2003 Men s Trials. The entry was up 20 on the previous year, representing nearly all of the best players in Warwickshire and a number of the first Team played well - but not well enough.
