2007 Christmas Message from WUGC President John Stubbings
This is a time for temporary greens, forward tees, preferred lies and non-qualifying competitions. It is also a time for trying to wrap up very warm - but golf must go on, so enjoy it with the company of your friends! Think ahead to those balmy summer days playing your favourite game, and to all those great triumphs which must surely lie ahead.

December 2007 on this site - end of year reviews, new features and new plans. Although the County Golf Season is now over until the middle of March, for all bar the Warwickshire Cup which your club may well be competing in, there will be daily updates on this site from now, through to Christmas, then on into the New Year. There will be something for everyone in the coming weeks and months so please check-out our 'Features' whenever you can.
2007 - The end of the season
Friday 30th November 2007 - Copt Heath Golf Club - The 2007 Warwickshire Union Annual Dinner - In their Centenary, using their newly re-furbished lounge and dining room, Copt Heath once again hosted the Union's Annual Dinner for near 200 diners. The guest of honour was Richard Palmer, President of the EGU (Pictured with John Stubbing WU President).
LGS has competition
The NEC Birmingham Golf Show - Friday 16th to Sunday 18th November 2007. Last year's Birmingham Golf show wasn't a spectacular start. The organisers of the London Golf Show were brought in and 'hey presto' queues on the first morning that were as big as those on the first day of the original London Show. The NEC was the original major major UK exhibition venue. It hosted the Golf Trade Show that bought in buyers from all over Europe, and now its taken its first step to try to take London's crown as the 'boss of indoor moss'
The story behind the triumph
Steve Webster wins the inaugural Portuguese Masters on Sunday 21st October 2007 - For Terry Webster it was a wonderful week to remember after the sadness and stress of losing his wife Val to cancer last May. It was the week in October when his 32-year-old son Steve won the Portugal Masters at Victoria Clube de Golfe in such convincing style, his second success in his 11 years on the European Tour.
2007 Warwickshire Cup - DRAW SHEET
