• 2006 JOM Championship and the Final Junior Order of Merit

    Saturday 7th October - The West Midlands Golf Club - the 23 JOM Championship qualifiers came the the West Midlands Golf Club to play for the final batch of JOM points, the most significant of the year, many knowing that winning on the day could take them to the top of the JOM itself, such was the level of achievement they had over the season. In numerical terms, some 15 players could win the JOM Trophy, if the leaders (in the JOM) did not play well.

  • The future is brighter with more Boys success

    The English Schools Championship 2006 & the Finham Bowl. At the English Schools 2006, at Belton Park GC, there was more success for Warwickshire when Rory Kirwan was awarded a second England Cap after finishing in 10th place. Our County had another player at the event and bar one nine holes, it could have been a fantastic 48 hours for Coventry Finham member Ben Bernamont.

  • Springtime successes

    Warwickshire girls have started the season well.Hannah Coles, Abbey Gittings and Charlotte Dalton have played 2 rounds of the Faldo Challenge and are lying equal second. The first round was played at Royal West Norfolk in tough conditions and Hannah just lost out on first place. The second round at the Forest of Arden saw Abbey and Charlotte fighting for second place, Abbey just edging out Charlotte by one shot with an excellent 77.

  • Max is 'the man' - The Warwickshire Young Master

    Stoneleigh Deer Park - Wednesday 12th April - the first Warwickshire U12s. Having warmed up with third place in the nett at the Warwickshire Schools the day before, Maxwell Martin took on 65 players of his own age (and size) and walked away with the first Warwickshire Young Masters trophy. He has three more years of being able to play in this championship so he may add to this title but if the play of some of the rest of the field this inaugural U12s produced is to go by, he will have to keep getting better to do so.

  • The 2006 Warwickshire Schools - Start Sheet

    This feature includes the Start Sheet for the Warwickshire Schools, to be held at Ingon Manor GC on Tuesday 11th April with tee-times from 11.30am. Defending Champions are Lauren Clark-Hughes for the Girls and Rory Kirwan for the Boys and both are able to play in the 2006 event. There are five titles to win for the 54 (at present) entrants plus qualification for five National events.

  • The 2006 Warwickshire Junior Order of Merit.

    The 2006 Junior Order of Merit starts with the 2006 Warwickshire Schools Championships, one of nearly 30 Championships and Junior Opens through to the end of September and concludes with the JOM Championship in early October. In addition to the listed events, any Junior registerred can also score Order of Merit points from 10 of their home club events and matchplay wins. And the winner will hold the new Birmingham Post and Mail Trophy for the year!
