The past two years have seen a long standing member of Kenilworth Golf Club serving as President of the Warwickshire Union of Golf Clubs. Jim joined the Club in 1956 having arrived from Glasgow straight from Graduation as a Mechanical Engineer.The move to Armstrong Siddeley at Coventry meant a doubling of salary to five hundred pounds! |

The Union has a player in each of the four EGU squads.

Its been a 'nearly' year for our top golfers and Warwickshire teams, for both the Ladies and Men. With so much talent in our County, but with the competition being so stiff, the National Championships and the biggest individual championships are very hard to win and between Christmas and New Year, come back for our reviews of the year. In the meantime, with twelve day to go before Christmas, read on for our Christmas Features. |

| While Maxstoke Park are renowned for the quality of their teenage golfers, 30-year-old Anthony Gascoigne was the king pin in their march towards a second successive triumph in the Midland Scratch League's first division.
Yet a year ago he was in the depths of despair. He feared not only for his golf but even for his life. He looked ahead and could not see a future. |

| This is a summary of the main presentations made at the half -yearly Council meeting for the Warwickshire Union of Golf Clubs. There were six main topics and each was covered in some detail.
