Cryer wins Trials for 2005.
Sporting a distinct sun tan from trips away with England’s elite, it was a solid 69 gross for 37 pionts that saw Matt Cryer take the 2005 Men’s Trials. There were other familiar faces in the top 10 of an event which is where many players have first come to the attention of the County Captain and the 2nds Captain, for selection to the teams which have been successful in the past few seasons, a winning formula that President Jim Dean remarked on in his presentation speech the County would very much like to continue.
Boys Trials 2005 – Scores
This feature includes both Nett and Gross scores for all the 50 players in the 2005 Boys Trials at Ingon Manor GC. Thre of those who played are taking aprt in the McEvoy Trophy on 13th and 14th April at Copt Heath GC and your support would be very welcome. Those players are Rob Browning, Dale Marson and Andy Sullivan, Warwickshire Boys Captain.
The 2nds struggle but there is another win for the 1sts
For the second friendly of 2005, new Captain of the Warwickshire 2nds Nick Clifford was not able to field a strong team against Leicestershire and the team lost 10-5. It was valuable experience for players who are on the fringes of selection but if winning the Midland League title is a target (as in 2003), those who play for this team are going to have to find their very best golf.

The 2005 Warwickshire Schools – FULL RESULTS
This article includes all the results from the 2005 Warwickshire Schools held at Stoneleigh Park GC. There are also details of the Warwickshire Schools Teams for the Midland Schools Championship at Maxstoke Park GC on Friday 3rd June, the wildcards who will also play in that Championships. A Wishaw junior winning the Nett Championship also gave that club the chance to host the McParlin Qualifier for the Boys with the same for The Warwickshire for the Girls
Business as usual for Browning
With a gross 69 (-3) is was another win in the Boys Trials at Ingon Manor GC for Rob Browning to make his start for the competitive season a 36 holes total of 140 over the last two days, the sort of scoring he will need to be highly placed in the McEvoy in two weeks time. Rob was already assured of his palce in the 8 man team for the Four Counties later in April but for a number of those playing, it was a chance to impress
