• ELIZABETH MALLETT OFF TO USA IN 2012

    Elizabeth Mallett of Sutton Coldfield Ladies GC has just accepted an offer and signed a letter of Intent for a golf scholarship to join The University of North Carolina women's golf team. The four year placement at UNC will begin in August 2012 and her decision to join this particular University same after she had considered two other offers. Elizabeth stated that "they were all highly valuable offers with slightly differing strengths and emphasis, so it's been a difficult choice to make". We wish her well.

  • SYLVIA EVANS RETIRES FROM WLCGA JUNIORS

    At the AGM of the County on Wednesday 16th November a special 'Thank You' and presentation was given to Sylvia Evans from Sutton Coldfield Ladies GC. Sylvia has been a member at Sutton for 43 years and for some 21 of those she has been involved with County Golf, particularly at Junior level. As Junior Organiser from 1991 to 2004 she worked tirelessly for the County and played a very important part in encouraging young girls into golf.....

  • WINNER OF THE 2011 QUIZ

    The winner of the Quiz set at the AGM in 2010 was announced at the County AGM on Wednesday 16th November 2011. With a magnificent 86% correct answers, the winner was Karen HEARN from Olton GC. Karen stated that it had taken her hours, but that she just could not put it down!! Pictured are Karen with County President, Elizabeth Earnshaw and Quiz master Pam Harben.   • WINTER ALLIANCE - 7th November 2011

    Despite dismal weather conditions, damp and grey, 52 ladies from 26 Golf Clubs within the County had a very enjoyable day at Kenilworth Golf Club in the first County Winter Alliance Greemsome Stableford Competition of the season. The scoring was very good given the conditions with Sarah PRIESTMAN and Pat SHARPE (pictured) from Harborne scoring a tremendous 38 points.

  • FURTHER ACCOLADE FOR LAUREN TAYLOR in 2011

    Warwickshire player Lauren TAYLOR has been chosen, together with Charley HULL (Northamptonshire) to represent English Women's Golf Association at the biennial Spirit International Amateur Championship, being staged at ther Whispering Pines Golf Club in Houston, Texas from 2 - 5 November 2011. A further 2 amateur men have also been chosen to represent English Golf Union at this event, where the competition is played on a fourball and better-ball format over 72 Holes. We wish them well.

  • MARY TURNER BOWL 2011

    Fulford Heath Golf Club was the venue for this year's Mary Turner Bowl and Worcestershire/Herefordshire were the hosts today. This competition is played annually between the 2011 hosts, Warwickshire and Staffordshire and is a Betterball Pairs format with 8 pairs from each County.....

  • RENE GREEY (Past Captains Competition) 2011

    Today, Monday 10th October saw the final Warwickshire Competition played for 2011 - the Rene Greey Trophy for Warwickshire Past Captains. Some 76 ladies from 22 clubs within the County had entered this competition, which is one of the favourites in the calendar......
